Medium Format Film

All of these examples are shot on Kodak Portra 400 (Colour) or Tri-X (B&W) on either Rolleiflex (the 6X6 examples) or Fuji GW680 (the 6X8 examples).

Whether on an all-analog wedding (where we shoot the day across 35mm, medium format and Super8) or included alongside digital coverage, medium format tends to be the more structured tool in our bag of tricks due to the larger cameras requiring a bit more time and effort to use. The result is always a more considered and deliberate frame that fits beautifully into the wider context of flow and dynamics as things unfold on a wedding day.

Richard Photo Lab in Los Angeles has been a key partner of ours for over a decade now and we’re thankful for their dedication in helping us achieve our look when shooting on film.
