Ana + Jaime | Glenorchy / Queenstown Elopement
Australian lovers Ana & Jaime travelled from Byron Bay to the remote Greenstone Homestead on the far shore of New Zealand’s Lake Wakatipu to elope in intimate style, just the two of them, their brilliant celebrant Ash, and Si, alongside to document the journey. Situated at the mouth of the Greenstone River, a couple of hours outside of Queenstown, with the Southern Alps riding up all around this beautifully restored cottage on a working station is the perfect level of remote earthy luxury that feels like you’ve literally run away from it all to get hitched.
Picking up a bespoke Italian feast to-go and magnificent cake in Queenstown, A&J headed to Glenorchy where Orange Blossom crafted a one-of-kind bouquet in the kitchen of her farmhouse and then it was off down a gravel road, past Paradise through a couple of hire-car friendly streams to the end of the road, horses in the paddock, and Greenstone Homestead with the fire already going.
Fast forward to the next morning – leisurely getting ready in the old house, phone calls to friends and family, then traipsing through the station fields to a ceremony under huge trees by the mirror-still lake, champagne and a cake cutting on the old verandah, and a beautifully prepared Italian spread by Jaime – it all felt like an effortless, un-rushed celebration of everything these two love and cherish.
