Genevieve + Brett | Catskill, NY

Take one carefully renovated 1930’s girl’s camp deep in the Catskills, in upstate New York. Add a couple of Ohio natives, now Brooklyn transplants, a hundred or so crazy wonderful artists and musicians, a pool in the forest, and the PERFECT early fall evening, and you’ve got the ingredients for something breath-taking!

The disarmingly genuine Genevieve & Brett are members of much-feted Brooklyn indie-folk band Wild Leaves, so naturally their forest wedding day saw them surrounded by band members, fellow musicians, and all manner of artists in a wonderful collision of New York City meets carefree upstate bohemia. Following their tear-jerker of a ceremony they ran-off barefoot into the forest (yes, RAN off!), and later on – with a huge open tent set-up by an inviting pool on a hot evening – the obvious was always going to happen. Bands jamming on the porch, people dancing barefoot in the grass, an en-masse indie-folk pool party with an early morning bonfire to round this remarkable day off. It was a privilege to even be there, let alone be partying with friends and family under the stars. Drink it up…
